Full Tilt Poker is an excellent poker room for polishing up your skills. Multi-table tournament fans will find it hard to beat. However, for the skilled players who search for a guaranteed win in low limit games, this room may not be one of the best options.

What Distinguishes Full Tilt Poker from Other Poker Rooms

In Full Tilt Poker’s high limit cash games, it’s possible to meet some of the most renowned professional poker players from all over the world. That’s definitely worth seeing! They usually play $40,000 to $60,000 no-limit games and those are some of the highest wagers in online poker cash games. A player can often watch the game of the five time WSOP* golden winner, Phil Ivey, as well as that of Gus Hansen, who is often described as poker's golden boy of fortune

An interesting feature of the room is that both players and observers can take part in the game’s chat. For that reason, games staring famous players are usually accompanied by extensive discussion of the process. In the discussions, a player can always learn who hides under the nicknames of certain players.Though, stars don’t usually hide their real names. This option makes Full Tilt a unique room. Even if you don't intend to play there, it’s worth installing on your PC: in order to just watch the games.

In the low limit games there are not that many weak opponents, which beginners should keep in mind. The most important activity indicators of the table are way too low with only about 30% of players viewing the flop at a nine player table, while an average pot is only $1-2. For example, at EuroPoker’s $10 no-limit, ten player Hold’em, the flop is seen by 50% of the players and the average pot value is in the $3-$6 margin. Therefore, we do not recommend Full Tilt to players who are willing to earn at low-limit games. Meanwhile, it is a great room for improving players’ skills with low risk to yourwallet. On higher limits, average players are also more skilled compared to other poker rooms, excluding Poker Stars, where average players are even more skilled.

What Kinds of Poker to Play

Full Tilt is one of the most popular poker rooms and there are usually no problems in finding active games of all kinds in any limit margin. No-limit Texas Hold’em is played starting at $10 and goes up to $60,000 limits. $5,000 and higher active tables appear around 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). Lower limit games can be played around the clock. There are only two options for limits under $50: tables hosting six or nine players. At higher limits there are also two player tables.

There’s also a wide selection of limiter poker games with limits from $0.25/$0.5 to $30/$60. A player can occasionally find higher bets and the average game level is also higher than in most poker rooms.

Low limit games can be found near the no pot-limit tables, but it's not very popular in this poker room.

Of all the types of poker played in the Full Tilt Poker Room it should be mentioned that there is a good selection of pot-limit Omaha games in the $10 to $2000 range. Omaha is also played at higher limits, but it’s usually less likely to find those games. As a rule, Omaha is played on short tables (accommodating six players) and is quite different from Hol'dem, in that Omaha is intensely played at lower limits.

There is almost always some type of low stakes limited 7 Card Stud selection going on, with limits falling in the range of $0.25/$0.5 and $2/$4.

Tournaments

In our opinion, Multi-table tournaments are one of the greatest advantages of the Full Tilt Poker Room. Every player can find a tournament to suit their style in this poker room. The tournament registration screen has easy navigation options and makes it simple to find all the possible options of getting there via satellites for every tournament. The biggest tournaments have prize pools of millions of dollars. An essential amount of the WSOP* packages is given out through the room’s tournaments.

Full Tilt has six, eight and nine-player Sit&Go tournaments which is not common in online poker. Note that the structure of these tournaments is not very convenient from our point of view. Tournament proposals for two, six, eight and nine-player Sit&Go’s are presented unsystematically. The Sit&Go fans who prefer multi-table tournaments will probably like it. Sit&Go’s are played quite passively here.

Bonuses

In cash games, players accumulate FTPs (Full Tilt Points). One FTP is given for every $1 of the rake taken by the poker room from the pot in the cash game. Bonus points can be used to buy in to a wide variety of tournaments at any level. It may be said with certainty that players won't have any problems using their bonus points however they choose. Full Tilt Poker Room even has an online store where players can buy various goods. Although prices are quite high so we recommend saving FTPs for tournaments.

Interface

To be a Full Tilt Poker Room client is great. With having the option to adjust the table size by decreasing or enlarging it, Full Tilt Poker Room has a leg up on Party Poker. Having the ability to play one game at a time should please fans. Players can choose from a wide selection of avatars. Though this feature is optional, top players may have unique avatars. Chip and card sizes are big enough, as are the pot and bet descriptions. Players can choose a game screen background image. Something that is also quite convenient is the mail lobby window. Tournament lobbies are displayed in separate windows and contain descriptive information about every tournament process and prize pool distribution.
